Girls Incorporated of Southwestern Connecticut (Girls Inc. of SWCT) is an affiliate of the national non-profit organization Girls Incorporated. Through programs offered by a national network of over a hundred affiliates, Girls Inc. aspires to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. To date, Girls Inc. has served over 900,000 girls ages 6–18.〔http://www.girlsincswct.org/〕 ==History== Girls Incorporated was established in Waterbury, Connecticut. Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut operates from the building that was the very first ''Girls Club'' in the United States established back in 1864. Girls Incorporated of Southwestern Connecticut's service area now spans from Greater Waterbury to Greenwich, Connecticut and includes other Fairfield County cities, Stamford, Norwalk, Weston, and Bridgeport.
